![]() ![]() ![]() I wonder how difficult it would actually be to rip the PS3 firmware without sighted help, I doubt it's even possible but would love to be proven wrong. Re: Odin Sphere Leifthrasir fully playable on For some reason I didn't know that I needed the firmware for a while, which I should have known because it's logical and every PlayStation Emulator need it. net Forum - General Game Discussion : pulseman45 via Audiogames-reflector But I would rather expect the former from a mainstream game.Īudiogames-reflector mailing Odin Sphere Leifthrasir fully playable on RPCS3 Also I started playing the PS2 version but didn't go very far for the moment, but whatever the version I hope the sound design is good enough that you can react accordingly to ennemies attacks.Well, at least I assume this is the case, but for example in audiogames such as the BK series the enemies attacks are often telegraphed, whereas it's completely different in The Gate or AAC. Great job, and thanks, devs.Thread AudioGames. I'm genuinely surprised by just how far the development has got. The original Odin Sphere was perhaps THAT unoptimized for the PS2.īut I'm pretty happy to report that Odin Sphere is one of the least demanding titles out there, and made for a very enjoyable experience. The remake being made to be more suited for the PC-like hardware of the PS3, so it just 'werks' better? Vulkan too good? The game itself needs really low specs to run, being mostly made up of 2D (albeit GORGEOUS) sprites, so it can definitely appreciate any developmental speed gains to a greater degree. Now this might be due to a lot of things (some of which an idiot like me probably shouldn't even baselessly speculate about), like: The thing is, I've played quite a lot of PS2 games on this hardware too on PCSX2, and while it's very much decent for many games, I'm pretty shocked at the performance difference. Nearly zero issues for the actual gameplay scenes, no matter how cluttered the screen gets with particles. Constant 60fps, only dropping to 56-55 on some heavier cutscenes, and that's about it. It's just a mid-end 2019 laptop, though it does pack some moderately good bang-for-buck specs, with an 8-core i5-9300H,and GTX 1650 (mobile).īut for some reason, under the same res of 1080p, running Odin Sphere on PCSX2 can be a bit choppy, with slowdowns here and there when casting spells or when there's lots of enemies/effects on-screen and the like.īut the remake is remarkably flawless. My hardware is anything but super impressive. Trying to evade or circumvent any of the above rules, will be considered as breaking them.
